1. Data Collection & Telemetry

To provide the best competitive experience and matchmaking with recruiters, we collect necessary telemetry:

  • Profile Data: GitHub stats, university affiliation, and chosen domains.
  • Project Metrics: Upvotes, views, and tech stack usage for the Leaderboard.
  • Recruitment Flags: Your 'Looking for team' or 'Available for hire' status.

2. How We Route Your Data

Your data is strictly used to enhance your presence in the Arena:

  • Ranking algorithms for the Global and University Leaderboards.
  • Connecting you with verified tech recruiters and project leads.
  • Preventing upvote manipulation and ensuring fair competition.
  • Generating personalized project recommendations.
We will NEVER sell your data to third-party ad networks. Period.

3. Infrastructure & Hosting

CS-Arena relies on world-class infrastructure provided by Sanity CMS and Vercel. Your data is routed through secure, distributed edge networks to ensure ultra-low latency.

Authentication is handled entirely via NextAuth and OAuth providers (like GitHub). We do not store your raw passwords.

4. Your Rights & Control

You are the master of your profile:

  • Right to Erasure (Delete your account and projects instantly).
  • Right to Anonymity (Hide your university or contact info).
  • Right to Export (Download your project metadata at any time).
